FlexiDesign
An automated 2D CAD to 3D parametric feature-based model conversion technology
FlexiDesign provides a solution to convert millions of legacy 2D CAD drawings to parametric design feature-based models for redesign, archival and visualization. FlexiDesign allows Autodesk Mechanical Desktop 4.0/5.0 and Solidworks 2000 users to automatically convert their 2D CAD orthographic views to 3D parametric design features. FlexiDesign is now available as e-FlexiDesign from Imagecom's ASP 2Dto3DCAD.com
Features
  • Input: Orthographic 2D views in DXF and DWG
  • Output : Parametric 3D models in DWG or PRT format
  • Automated correction of errors in 2D drawings such as duplicate, overlapping and disconnected entities
  • Automated filtering of non-graphical entities such as dimension lines, text and hatching
  • Conversion time typically in seconds
  • Completely editable feature-based output
  • Parametric constraints can be modified to edit features
  • All features fully dimensioned
  • Parametric feature history tree generated
  • Supported features - holes (blind, through, counterbores, countersinks), fillets (linear and circular), chamfers, extrusion features (cuts and joins), revolved features, array features, construction features (work planes, work points, sketch planes), profiles, array features (rectangular, polar), etc.
  • Exportable to other CAD systems through STEP AP203
  • Handles conic and prismatic machinable piece parts. Ideal for sheet metal parts and axi-symmetric cylindrical parts.
