Imagecom Launches ASPire3D.com for CAD Conversions
September 8, 2000--Imagecom, Inc. recently announced ASPire3D.com, an ASP that will offer a variety of CAD applications on a pay-per-use basis. The site is scheduled to become accessible on September 12, 2000.

The first application available on ASPire3D.com is an internet-enabled version of Imagecom's FlexiDesign, called e-FlexiDesign, which automatically converts 2D legacy CAD drawings to parametric, feature-based, 3D models. According to Imagecom, the site is targeted at companies with legacy CAD data that needs to be migrated to a 3D environment. By automatically recognizing features, e-FlexiDesign allows users to easily redesign the product as well as provide a seamless integration to automated manufacturing, says Imagecom.

Commenting on the new ASP, Joe Greco, leading MCAD analyst and regular CADENCE contributor, said, "I was first introduced to Imagecom over a year ago and was very impressed with the power of FlexiDesign. This program is a natural fit for the ASP model. ASPire3D.com, spearheaded by e-FlexiDesign is going help a lot of users deal with their 2D legacy data on an as-needed basis."
