ASPire3D Now Converts SolidWorks Models
February 7, 2001--ASPire3D recently announced that it now supports native SolidWorks models as one of six 3D formats available on its 2dto3dcad.com site. Initial support is in SolidWorks 2000 format; support for SolidWorks 2001 available in the spring of 2001. SolidWorks models produced by the ASPire3D site contain parametric features that can be edited like any SolidWorks model.
The company reports that it has experienced high demand for conversion to SolidWorks models in recent months, and notes that many SolidWorks customers new to 3D modeling have extensive legacy 2D drawings that they want to convert to solid models. ASPire3D uses FlexiDesign software to perform conversions, eliminating the need for manual interaction on the part of the user. Conversion prices range from $15 to $90 depending on the complexity of the job, with moderately complex jobs costing about $50 per part. The site also provides the user with tools for inspecting the converted model before making the purchase. |
