ASPire3D Adds New Functionality to 2Dto3DCAD.com
New features demonstrated at National Manufacturing Week

Arlington, Texas, March 12, 2001 - Four months after officially releasing 2Dto3DCAD.com, the world's first automated 2D to 3D conversion ASP, ASPire3D today announced several new enhancements to the Internet conversion portal. The new features added to the web site will provide more payment options to the user and also add the ability to submit "Rush Jobs". These additions, as well as others outlined in detail below, make it more convenient for users to automatically convert their legacy 2D CAD drawings to parametric feature-based 3D models in a variety of native formats.

    New Payment Options

Two flexible payment options have been added for companies that do not want to charge their conversions with a credit card. The Purchase Order option was originally available only to select pre-approved companies by faxing an application. With the new release, the Purchase Order option is available to all companies after they submit a brief application and be approved directly online. ASPire3D will then invoice the company later based on the Purchase Order. A new subscription plan has also been introduced for large and medium sized companies that would like a uniform payment option for all employees in a corporation. With this option, the company purchases a block of conversions that fit their needs. This subscription is then available to all employees in the company. Purchased conversions are deducted from the pre-paid subscription and the balance is reflected on all employee accounts for a particular company. Companies can purchase the subscription plan by completing a simple online application.

    Convenience and bandwidth optimized

Two additional features have been added to make the site easier to use. A new priority field has been added to the conversion options page to allow customers to select how quickly they would like their conversions completed. Generally, the automated software converts the drawings in the queue on a first come-first served basis, but with this new feature the customer can select either a priority conversion or a standard conversion. Priority conversions in most cases are completed in less than a day after submission to the site. There is a 20% additional charge for priority conversions over a standard conversion.

ASPire3D has also added automated zipping and unzipping for files coming in and going out of the website. With this new feature, the customer can submit a drawing that is zipped and also receive a finished 3D model that is zipped in order to reduce file translation sizes. This feature is a big help for users that have Internet access only through regular low bandwidth telephone lines.

New Features demonstrated at NDES 2001

ASPire3D demonstrated these new features on 2Dto3DCAD.com at the National Manufacturing Week's premier National Design Engineering Show (NDES) at Chicago, March 5-8, 2001. ASPire3D was part of the Autodesk Partner Pavilion where they demonstrated the ASP at three mini-theater presentations at 11 AM on March 6, 9 AM on March 7, and 1:30 PM on March 7, as well as featured on web-casts through Autodesk's iBooth at 12 PM on March 5, 2:30 PM on March 6, and 9 AM on March 7. Recordings of the web-casts are available at http://www.autodesk.com/ndes.

Commenting on the new features added to 2Dto3DCAD.com, Dr. Raj Ganesan, Vice President of Development for ASPire3D said, "We are very excited to be exhibiting at NDES for the first time ever. We will have an opportunity to show our new features to visitors to the show as well as thousands of people around the world through the virtual conference. The enhancements made to the site as based directly on customer feedback and we are trying our best to make the site easy to use as well make provide flexible conversion options."
