Arlington, Texas, November 15, 2000 - Just two weeks after officially releasing 2Dto3DCAD.com - the world's first automated 2D to 3D conversion ASP, the developers of the site, Imagecom Inc., announced today that they have won two prestigious awards. Both the CADENCE Editor's Choice Award and the Computer Graphics World Year 2000 Innovation Award have gone to ASPire3D, the portal that runs 2Dto3DCAD.com and soon other ASPs.
The publishers of CADENCE magazine declared ASPire3D a winner of the CADENCE Editor's Choice Award for the year. This was announced in the December issue of the magazine. The award is given to select companies and products that have done the most in the past several months to move the CAD industry forward. Previous winners of the award have included Solid Edge and Autodesk Inventor. Applauding the company, Mr. Arnie Williams, Editor-in-Chief of CADENCE said "Our congratulations to all the folks on the ASPire3D team for producing such a high quality innovative product. ASPire3D garnered a lot of well deserved votes from the nominations."
ASPire3D was also the winner of the prestigious Computer Graphics World Year 2000 Innovation Award. The results were announced on the Computer Graphics World website and soon in the December issue of the magazine. A congratulatory letter from Mr. Phil LoPiccolo, Editor-in-Chief said "Congratulations. From hundreds of nominations, the editors chose only 21 winning products, which we believe demonstrate true innovation by expanding the boundaries of visual computing."
The ASP was also very well received by MCAD analysts and customers. Mr. Joe Greco, a leading MCAD analyst and frequent contributor to several well-known magazines said, "I have seen the technology behind the site and in testing several complex 2D files, I was surprised how automated most of the conversions were. Successfully delivering this technology as an ASP may be the breakthrough many engineers have been waiting for in order for them to make the move to 3D."
Commenting on the recent successes, Dr. Raj Ganesan, Vice President of Development at ASPire3D said "The awards reiterate what we have believed for several years. Our technology has been built over 10 years of R&D and fulfills a huge market need using the innovative ASP model to help users securely perform conversions over the Internet on an as-needed basis."
